Frida Finnman, new head of the incubator at Innovatum Science Park

Want to attract more high-tech startups to Trollhättan

In August, entrepreneur and investor Frida Finnman will take over as the new head of the incubator at Innovatum Science Park. With a particular focus on advanced metal 3D printing, dual-use and remanufacturing, she wants to strengthen Trollhättan as a breeding ground for the next generation of industrial companies.

Frida has been a business coach at Innovatum since 2019 and succeeds Eivind Vogel-Rödin, who is now leaving the role to start his own business. With over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, investments and leadership, she is now stepping into a new role.

- I look forward to working with the team to further develop the work and create more opportunities for startups. With PTC's world-leading ecosystem in metal 3D printing, a strong investor network and large companies that want to collaborate with startups, we can offer fantastic conditions. In addition, I can proudly say that we have one of Sweden's strongest coaching teams to support," says Frida.

Want to get more researchers to commercialize their technology

The incubator is ranked as one of Sweden's best incubators and the only one focusing on industrial technology. The business is an integral part of Innovatum Science Park and here there is access to test and demo environments, cutting-edge expertise and links to both industry and academia. An important task going forward will be to deepen the collaboration with University West and get more researchers and doctoral students to take the step from lab to market.

- Frida has built up a deep understanding of how we need to develop the business going forward, she stands for continuity which is important to us, and has the personal qualities required for the role," says Linda Bohlin Trajkovski, CEO of Innovatum Science Park.

Extensive experience in growth journeys

Frida started her career as an entrepreneur in the early 2000s. In 2006, she founded Plushögskolan and led the company as CEO for several years. Under her leadership, the business grew rapidly - from one location to twelve - and turnover increased to SEK 100 million. In her role as a business coach at Innovatum, she has supported over 50 startups in everything from industrial technology to cleantech.

Innovatum Science Park's incubator has been named one of Sweden's best by Vinnova and is unique in the country with its focus on industrial technology. Through the link to PTC, startups in, for example, additive manufacturing are given a real chance to grow - in the middle of a test and demo environment where the production technology of the future is developed together with industry.
