Innovatum Science Park organizes first PTC Meet Up to promote collaboration
Innovatum Science Park is a hub for innovation and collaboration and to further strengthen the ties between the members of the Production Technology Centre, the first PTC Meet Up was recently organized. This networking event gave participants the opportunity to get to know each other's businesses and brainstorm new ideas for future collaborations.
The aim of the PTC Meet Up is to create a meeting where members can share experiences and knowledge and also identify new opportunities for collaboration in production technology.
One of the highlights was the study visit to AnVa KSG AB, one of the members of the network, based at the Innovatum site. The visit gave participants a deeper insight into the company's operations and technology, which further inspired new cooperation opportunities.
Innovatum Science Park looks forward to continuing to support and develop the Production Technology Center. The collaboration arena plays a crucial role in promoting innovation and collaboration in production technology, and the commitment of its members is central to this success.
The Production Technology Center is one of our most important initiatives, and we will continue to invest in the network to promote innovation and collaboration in production technology. The engagement and exchange of ideas among members is exactly what is needed to drive this development forward.
Tommy Christensen, Innovation Manager Innovatum Science Park and Executive Director of PTC.
By building stronger relationships and collaborating in new ways, Innovatum Science Park hopes that the PTC Meet Up will become a recurring and meaningful platform for network members. The event was very successful and appreciated by the participants. During the day, all parties had the opportunity to pitch their businesses briefly and discuss potential collaborations.

Innovatum Science Park - Eivind Vogel-Rödin
Innovatum Science Park's incubator for startups focuses on production and especially AM (additive manufacturing) forward. They want to help companies from prototype to market and can offer their makerspace with simpler 3D printing to larger units up to 2 meters high and also in more advanced materials.
Lindh3Dprinting - Joakim Lindh
Joakim's company is based in Trollhättan and helps companies with 3D modeling and production, mainly in plastics. They are currently working for Innovatum Science Park with support. They also service the machinery in the Maker Space at Innovatum and the more advanced printers recently installed at PTC.
SSP North AB - Jörgen Skoglund
SSP North develops and sells advanced wireless safety solutions with PLC for fixed and mobile machines. The company was founded in 2016 and is based on the Swedish innovation Safety Simplifier which is patented globally. SSP North has its own development in Sweden and sells its products worldwide in cooperation with SSP GmbH.

Simumatik AB - Daniel Eriksson
Simumatik develops innovative virtual commissioning tools in the form of digital twins for the manufacturing industry. Customers include machine builders, manufacturing companies and training providers. Their headquarters are located in Skövde.
Siemens-Energy AB - Robin Naviga
Siemens Energy, which works with combustion chambers for gas power plants, has developed new methods in Trollhättan for pressing and welding together the chamber of high-alloy sheet metal. This replaces the outdated and significantly more expensive casting. They want to be a leader in the transition to a sustainable society and are committed to integrating 100% hydrogen into their burners.
PTC Innovation - Stefan Björklund
The company, which grew out of a research project at University West, develops and sells equipment for advanced thermal spraying of ceramics or metals with high heat and wear resistance. By spraying wear surfaces of almost anything with 20 nanometer thin layers, durability can be significantly increased. An exciting example is the 20 billion project with the new particle accelerator in Lund, where PTC Innovation helped spray key components with ceramic material that provides color indication to ensure that the 5 MW energy beams hit the right spot.
University West - Leif Magnus Jensen
Leif Magnus belongs to a growing group of teachers/researchers in industrial economics and works in his group at University West with processes with logistics, processes and improvements for more efficient production. They are currently looking for more projects together with companies and the research that takes place towards the master's program in industrial economics. They also have several students who are looking for exciting assignments for their master's theses.
University West - Lennart Malmsköld
University West (HV) has successfully offered assignment courses to companies. The courses are short, customized courses designed to increase the skills of companies and disseminate the knowledge available at the university. In the spring, there is the opportunity to collaborate with students who do their thesis during the spring. In the fall, these collaborations are well suited to channel their ideas and needs so that they can start in the spring semester of 2025.HV's focus areas are various manufacturing processes, mainly welding, thermal spraying, 3D printing in metal, automation and AI automation, and process control.
GKN Aerospace - Anders Björnson
Much of the success and development of GKN Aerospace is based on the cooperation with all local companies in the region. Here, the collaboration within PTC is the most shining example. The company has a number of Global Technology Centers in the world and PTC is the template when they create new ones and also for how they want to run the others. The technical expertise available in Trollhättan has been inherited through generations from Nohab's locomotives.
Empir Industry - Daniel Johansson
With a heritage from the automotive industry, Empir works with IT systems and services to improve and streamline production. Empir works with digitization through MES systems (Manufacturing Execution System) which includes traceability, instructions and analysis. Empir also has services for backup, support, availability and consulting services with system development, project management and system architecture. Empir helps companies to see the big picture and has a broad understanding of the industry's challenges. This enables them to identify key factors and thus streamline their customers' production.
AnVa KSG AB - Tomas Wahlberg
AnVa KSG AB is a mechanical workshop located next to PTC in the Innovatum area. They focus on high-quality welding of metal and are a subcontractor to Siemens Energy, among others, with the manufacture of components such as stainless steel pipe systems. At present, the company has many manual processes and proprietary solutions in its production, so the focus going forward is automation using, for example, co-bots and even more automation in the manufacturing process.
