Springboard

Springboard aims to give the region’s aerospace and engineering companies the conditions to contribute to a more environmentally friendly aviation industry. In a first step, this is done by upgrading the Produktionstekniskt Centrum (PTC) in Trollhättan to meet the companies’ needs.

Both the aerospace and engineering industries are currently very interested in contributing to more sustainable development. Springboard step 1 will create the conditions for the development of new manufacturing methods that can enable lighter aircraft, new propulsion systems and increased use of renewable fuels.

The project builds on previous investments in the PTC’s infrastructure in the form of premises and equipment. Some fifteen companies and organizations are already members of PTC, and by upgrading the arena it is hoped to attract several new players who want to be involved in developing the manufacturing industry. The innovative environment created when large and small companies meet together with universities and research institutes is a breeding ground for new business ideas, competitiveness and growth.

In addition to upgrading and acquiring new equipment, the project will organize activities to develop an operational model for the future PTC and prepare for the remaining parts of Springboard.
